A year at our school
At GEPS, learning is carefully tailored to meet the needs of every student, including those in our High Potential, Gifted, and EAL/D programs. With clear learning goals, success criteria, and peer feedback, every learner is supported and challenged to grow. This personalised approach ensures every child feels encouraged, valued, and motivated to achieve their very best.
Our wonderful Year 1 and 2 dance group took the stage with a hip hop routine that melted hearts all around! Their smiles and enthusiasm lit up the room as they danced with confidence and joy. We are so proud of these budding performers and so thankful to Mrs Simpson and Miss Wijaya for preparing our littlest superstars with such care and encouragement.
Our school netball team proudly represented GEPS at their recent gala day, showing wonderful teamwork, determination, and enthusiasm. Each player brought positivity to every game, encouraging one another and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship. The day was about more than competition—it was about building friendships, celebrating effort, and enjoying the game together. We are incredibly proud of the way our team played with pride and commitment.
Harmony Week at Gosford East Public School is a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures that make up our community. Throughout the week, students engage in learning, sharing, and joyful activities that promote acceptance, inclusion, and pride in our multicultural tapestry. Special guests from Mosaic Multicultural Connections joined our younger students for storytelling, craft, and songs from around the world, enriching the experience. We are grateful to our dedicated staff, families, and students for making Harmony Week such a meaningful and inclusive celebration.
Our Stage 2 and 3 boys wowed the audience with their performance at the Central Coast Dance Festival! Their routine was full of energy, rhythm, and creativity, leaving a lasting impression on everyone watching. We celebrate their passion for the stage and their willingness to step up, perform with confidence, and share their talents with the wider community. A fantastic effort by our GEPS boys!
We are so proud of our Stage 3 debating teams as they begin their journey in the 2025 Premiers’ Debating Challenge. The Year 6 All Stars kicked off the competition with an exciting win, while our Year 5 Rising Stars impressed everyone with their confident debut performance. Both teams demonstrated skill, teamwork, and enthusiasm as they represented GEPS with pride. Congratulations to our talented debaters on such a wonderful start—we can’t wait to see what they achieve next!
The GEPS Student Voice Ambassadors took part in an inspiring day of leadership and collaboration at Lisarow High School. Students explored what trust, respect, and student voice look like at GEPS, while contributing ideas for future directions. We are so proud of Sariah, Zach, Rohan, Ashton and Lucy for their thoughtful input and willingness to engage in meaningful conversations about strengthening our school community.
Book Week is always a highlight at GEPS, and Mrs Coles’ fabulous costumes brought joy to staff and students alike! With her creativity and flair, she reminded us all of the fun that comes with celebrating reading. Her enthusiasm inspires our students to dive into books, embrace literacy, and treasure the power of storytelling. Book Week is a cherished tradition at GEPS thanks to the magic she brings each year.

Congratulations to our talented student artists, whose works were featured in an exhibition at Erina Library. These creations were developed during a High Potential Gifted Education day at Rumbalara Environmental Education Centre with guidance from Erina High teachers and artist Jenny McCracken. Hannah, Zavier, and Ruby proudly represented GEPS at the exhibition opening, showcasing not only their skill but their passion for creative expression. A wonderful opportunity for our young artists!
Our 2026 Kinder families and students enjoyed a special taste of school life during our Open Classrooms event. Children engaged in hands-on phonics lessons, play-based literacy tasks, and learning activities designed to spark joy and confidence. Families experienced the warm, nurturing environment GEPS is known for. A huge thank you to Mrs Campbell and Mrs Simpson for welcoming our future learners with such enthusiasm and care.

We congratulated our Education Week award recipients and applauded the strong leadership shown by our captains. A special highlight was Miss Wijaya receiving the 2025 World Teachers’ Day Award for her inspirational work and dedication. We congratulate them on an outstanding effort and a season to remember!
Our kindergarten students had an exciting time exploring movement in their gymnastics program. With boundless energy and huge smiles, they learned to roll, jump, balance, and move with growing confidence. These sessions not only strengthened their physical skills but also encouraged teamwork, resilience, and joy through active play. We are so proud of our little gymnasts as they embrace new challenges in such a fun and engaging way!
Our K-2 students proudly showcased their creativity with a special “Find My Portrait” Art Show during the Mother’s Day Breakfast. Mums and special mother figures were invited to spot the beautiful portraits their children had drawn, sparking joy, laughter, and a few happy tears along the way. Families also had the opportunity to keep their portraits with a gold coin donation, helping raise funds for new K–2 home readers. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful K–2 teachers for organising such a meaningful celebration.
ANZAC March and Assembly
Every year, GEPS students and families proudly march in the Gosford ANZAC Day March through the streets of Gosford City. We then attend the ANZAC Day Service. As a school, we are lucky to have a treasured relationship with Gosford RSL who attend our school service. ANZAC Day is important to our school because it allows us to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served, while fostering respect, gratitude, and a shared sense of history within our community.
“Our principal’s heartfelt embrace of the school community reflects a strong and compassionate leadership that is both reassuring and motivating. The school’s vision, values, and commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment are clearly evident when you visit.” — a parent of Gosford East Public School
